The TPS6213X family is an easy-to-use synchronous step-down DC-DC converter optimized for high power density applications. The device's typical switching frequency of up to 2.5MHz allows the use of small inductors, and utilizes DCS-Control™ topology technology to provide fast transient response and achieve high output voltage accuracy. The device's wide operating voltage range of 3V to 17V makes it ideal for systems powered by Li-Ion or other batteries and a 12V intermediate supply rail. It supports up to 3A of continuous output current (using 100% duty cycle mode) at an output voltage between 0.9V and 6V. The output voltage start-up ramp is controlled by the soft-start pin, allowing operation as a stand-alone supply or in tracking configuration. Power sequencing is also possible through configuration enable and open-drain power good pins. In power-save mode, the device draws approximately 17µA of quiescent current from the input voltage, VIN. If the load is light, it will automatically and seamlessly enter the power saving mode to maintain high efficiency in the whole load range. In shutdown mode, the device is turned off and consumes less than 2µA of shutdown current. The device is available in adjustable and fixed output voltage versions and is packaged in a 3mm × 3mm (RGT) 16-pin Very Thin Quad Flat No-Lead (VQFN) package.
